Explanation: I can't find the Discussion section for this question (hope it hasn't been blocked or anything), so am posting what I have found out as an Answer.
There are two meanings of Registry a) place or office where registers or records are kept and b) registration. This is why the birth certificate of my Grandmother (born 1883 in Stoke upon Trent) has as its heading "Certificate of Registry of Birth". So perhaps part of your sentence runs Es ist die beglaubigte Abschrift eines Auszugs aus der Registrierung einer Heirat

Sabine, you said you wanted help with the whole sentence. The example of my grandmother's birth certificate was to show that "Registry of Marriages" (another part of the sentence from the term in the question , I admit) could mean "Registrierung von Heiraten (oder einer Heirat )" and not the actual place or office..

Asker: Thank you for your contribution, Diana, though I think you misread the question: not register of marriages (Heiratsregister) but registration district, for which Katja gives one of the two translations I found, that is Registrierungsbezirk/Registrierungsdistrikt.
