Kontext: BA Zeugnis von der Universität Oxford: "This is to certify that it appears by the Registers of the University of Oxford that XXX satisfied the Examiners in the Final Honour School of Modern Languages - French and German...
Hat jemand eine Idee? Dieser Begriff auf Deutsch finde ich nirgends.
Explanation: Who better to answer this than someone who received exactly this certificate many years ago and had to have it translated by a Vereidigte Übersetzerin in order to prove that I can speak German to at least B1 level (kein Witz) as a prerequisite of acquiring dual nationality a few years ago.
So the text of my certificate goes like this
Hiermit wird aufgrund vorliegender Sachlage, durch Eintragung der Universität Oxford, bestätigt, dass XXX YYY College
die Honours-Prüfung in der Abteilung Moderne Frendsprachen Deutsch und Französisch im Sommertrimester ZZZ zur Zufriedenheit der Prüfer abgelegt hat und dass ihr von den Prüfern Klasse * Zwei * zuerkannt wurde.
Nach Erfüllung der vorgeschriebenen Residenzpflicht sowie dem Bestehen aller Prüfungen gemäß den Universitätsstatuten, wurde ihr am xx xx xxxx offiziell der akademische Grad Bachelor of Arts verliehen.

Nein, das "Final Honour School" bezieht sich auf ein Fach - in diesem Fall Französisch /Deutsch - das "Final" signalisiert die "Endphase" des Studiums, d.h., dass man prüfungsreif ist. Mir geht es darum, ob ich das versuchen sollte, zu übersetzen, oder eher zu erklären...
??? Warum ist das "Final Honour School" gross geschrieben?
Ist das der Name der Schule?

Asker: Thank you so much! This is exactly the same certificate - (my own, in fact, which I also have to get beglaubigt in order to pursue a second course of study in Germany, and I additionally have to prove my Deutschkenntnisse despite being a qualified translator and having lived here for nearly 8 years...) - but you know from personal experience what it's like!
