Reference: Category? Reference information: Candidates failing in any semester/year examination of the Board shall be considered for readmission to the same semester/year, with or without change of course or institute, subject to prevailing rules. While readmitting such a candidate, the marks obtained by him in any of the subjects or passing heads, namely theory, practical, term work, oral, project/seminar, implant training, progressive assessment or any other head of examination shall not be considered nor shall the candidate have any claim on these marks. Further, the candidate shall submit an affidavit, to this effect; on a stamp paper of appropriate amount. http://tpolymumbai.in/Exam_RegulationsAug07.pdf Grade in each subject will be calculated based on the summation of marks obtained under each head of examination i.e. Theory, Sessional, Termwork, Practical . However if the student obtains FF grade under any head, he/she will be awarded overall FF Grade for that subject. This will be rectified as and when he/she passes that particular head of the concerned subject during Remedial/Re-remedial Examination. http://www.ddu.ac.in/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/B.TECH_CREDI... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2012-12-20 13:25:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- A) Subjects and Heads of Passing A subject may have some or all of the following heads of passing, as may be prescribed in the teaching and examination scheme of the curriculum: Theory Practical Term work Oral Project and Seminar Implant training Each head shall have separate marks. However, for a theory subject, its prescribed passing heads shall not be treated as separate passing heads for the purpose of granting ATKT (meaning failure in any one of them shall be treated as failure in that subject). The maximum marks and minimum passing marks for each passing head of a subject shall be given in the related teaching and examination scheme. http://tpolymumbai.in/Exam_RegulationsAug07.pdf -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2012-12-20 13:27:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- These terms appear to be synonyms: head of passing, passing head, head of examination -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2012-12-20 14:08:47 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- A subject may contain up to four heads of passing i.e. theory, sessional, practical (including oral) & term work. To pass a subject-examination a student is required to obtain minimum 40% of the maximum marks separately in each head of the passing viz. Theory, Sessional, Practical (including the oral) & Term-work http://www.ddu.ac.in/academics/fot/?page_id=99 |

Reference: head Reference information: “Head of passing” means a head under which minimum marks are prescribed for passing in an examination. http://www.nagpuruniversity.org/pdf/Ordinance/Ordinance_Book... I'm not sure enough to post this as an answer, but am thinking that "head" might be short for "head subject" (= main subject/Hauptfach?) - in that case, it could mean "zum Bestehen erforderliches Hauptfach". |
