English to German translations [PRO] Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs / birth certificate lingo | | English term or phrase: Qualification | Hi - at first glance very easy, but only at first glance. I am translating my sister's birth certificate into German because she is getting married soon. The INFORMANT section contains the field 'Qualification', with 'Father' being the entry. I am not sure how to translate this adequately. It could denote the relationship between child and informant, it could be the function or role of the informant, but in any case I wonder whether there is an appropriate German term that would describe 'Qualification' in this particular sense. 'Rolle', 'Funktion' don't sound right to me in this context.
Any help from well-versed translators of official documents gratefully anticipated.
TIA

| Grading comment Absolutely, that's it. In this entry there's no need to talk about occupation, as the 'Father' section is further up, this just relates to the identity of the person who provides the Registrar with the information. Thanks! 3 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |

....vielleicht wäre in diesem Fall die Übersetzung *Eignung* doch die Beste, mit der Aussage, inwieweit der Eintragende geeignet ist bzw. berechtigt ist, die Geburtsurkunde auszufüllen.
