English to German translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng / liquid crystals | | English term or phrase: biaxial degeneracy | weiterhin das Patent über Flüssigkristallbauelemente, s. meine vorige Frage
Recently, the inventors of the present invention reported the coupling between anchoring interaction in an azimuthal angle direction and that in a polar angle direction, which is shown when the direction of alignment of liquid crystal with respect to a substrate is represented by an azimuthal angle and a polar angle. In particular, in the case of the alignment of nematic liquid crystal by a SiOx thin film, it was found that ***biaxial degeneracy*** of the alignment occurs. That is, due to the presence of the coupling of two anchoring forces, quasi-in-plane (in-plane) switching with respect to the change in direction of the alignment of liquid crystal can be performed by the balance between the azimuth anchoring and the polar anchoring.
Degeneration an zwei Achsen? Zweiachsige Degeneration? Oder etwas ganz anderes?

BUT I can't verify 'biaxiale Entartung'- please google that term for yourself and see the resultung 'biaxiale Verspannung', which makes sense here
I hope you have a Physics degree! |

| Grading comment Habe mich für "biaxiale Degeneration" entschieden, weil ich in einem Schwestertext schon "Degenration" verwendet hatte.
