Patentschrift, Forsetzung:
Under ideal conditions, this polymer will undergo a clean unzipping reaction that releases the cyanoacrylate monomer. This begins to take place in the lower temperature regions and must be gradually elevated to extract the increasingly difficult "boiling off" of the monomer.

Die Verdampfung/das Abdampfen, nehme ich an? Wie passt das zu "extract"? Ist das unbeholfenes Englisch oder Chemiker-Slang?

Extrahieren wird hier im Sinne von Herausziehen/Ausziehen aus einer Mischung verwendet. Also sinngemäß: "Die Temperatur muss stetig erhöht werden, um das schwieriger werdende Herausdestillieren/Auskochen des Monomeren aus dem Gemisch zu ermöglichen."
Es handelt sich um das etwas umständliche Englisch in Patentschriften.

Es geht in jedem Fall um die Gewinnung des Monomeren, das während der Depolarisationsreaktion entsteht und herausdestilliert wird. Unter Chemikern nenn man das auch "Abdestillieren". Das Monomere wird aus der Mischung abdestilliert. Einen Ausdruck wie Abdampfen verwendet man, wenn der abzudampfende Stoff entfernt werden soll. Dieser ist dann aber in der Regel nicht das gewünschte Produkt, das hier mit dem Monomeren im Vordergrund steht.
