Eher zur Erläuterung als konkrete Vorschläge.

"generic" ist ein ganz gängiges Wort, das oft so was wie 08/15 oder sogar willkürlich bedeutet.
Ach ja - "gängig" wäre selbst nicht soweit daneben.

Zu meiner Überraschung fehlt diese Bedeutung in den "generic" Wörterbüchern. (da - ein gutes Beispiel!)

"x-typischer" - da fällt mir das gewisse x-Element nicht ein.
