Around the fourteenth century, puppeteers began to explore themes other than religious ones. A comedic influence began to emerge. The church designed puppets were no longer suitable for their teaching. By the sixteenth century, puppet theaters existed all over Europe.

agree  xxxFrancis Lee: Mein erster Gedanke war "Humor" (oder "Witz"), mir wollte aber kein vernünftiger Vorschlag einfallen. Ist wahrscheinlich so gemeint, aber sicher bin ich mir nicht (also was den englischen Ausdruck in diesem Fall betrifft).

die Komik


Explanation:
Ich verstehe "comedic" (kein gebräuchliches Wort) im Sinne von "comical".
Bei z.B. "komödiantisch" denke ich eher "theatrical".
Es kann wierdum auch der Fall sein, daß der Autor genau das meint - in dem Fall sollte er sich das nächste Mal geschickter ausdrücken. ;-)

- Die Komik spielte spielte nun/langsame eine Rolle
- Komik-Elemente wurde nun miteinbezogen/aufgenommen
- Die (Puppenmeister) zeigten einen zunehmend komischen Hang.
