Explanation:
Alles nicht elegant, aber gemeint ist eine Festivalaufführung im Wettbewerb eines von der europäisch-/amerikanischen Klatschpresse und der Filmkritik vielbeachteten Festivals mit Staraufmarsch über den roten Teppich incl. Blitzlichgewitter, wovon Cannes wohl das wichtigste ist. Kommt also der Aufnahme der Filmemacher in die Reihen der europäischen und amerikanische Arthouse-Szene gleich. Ich würde versuchen, das sehr frei zu übersetzen.
