doch Kontext ;-) Also, vorsichtiger Vorschlag: mach dich mal auf eine Klettertour gefasst, du stehst schon mittendrin. Hike kann ja auch Anstieg sein und da so ein Sofa ein Hindernis darstellen könnte. Na ja, pure Spekulation.

I have to add that they take a little walk and stop right in front of the couch. I guess he means "you're standing in it" = in front of it?
