English term or phrase: strip out

Traditional approaches resolved performance problems in a legacy storage environment by aggregating a number of disks together to achieve a combined IOPS, or I/Os per second, per disk, across that storage array. You basically ###striped it out### and, in cases where you needed extreme performance, you would use so many disks that there was a lot of wasted capacity.

Ich verstehe diese etwas umgangssprachliche Formulierung so, dass einfach mehr Festplatten verwendet wurden. Hat jemand eine Idee, wie man das bisschen knackiger ausdrücken könnte?

Oder vielleicht umgangssprachlicher "breitstreuen" o.ä.

Es muss wohl "stripe" [sic!] heißen.

Wie sich herausstellt, hat "striping" mit RAID 0 zu tun, dabei werden sequentielle Daten parallelisiert:
