Es geht um die Software eines Geräts/einer Anlage, die in einer Druckerei zur Qualitätssicherung eingesetzt wird und die Druckerzeugnisse auf Fehler (Streifen, fehlende Farbe usw.) überprüft.

Kann auch als "Work in Progress"-Tool benutzt werden.

Explanation:
Sowohl "Work in Progress" (vorläufige Version einer Sache, die noch in Arbeit ist) als auch "Tool" existieren im "Denglischen" als Begriffe - ich weiß allerdings nicht, ob sie auch für den Druckerei-Bereich geläufig sind. Etwas eleganter würde man vielleicht "...auch für Work in Progress..." ohne "Tool" übersetzen.
