Bus/Financial - Computers: Software
English term or phrase: business case
Software development

I have seen this term used as is on German sites, but I would prefer to use a German translation (Unternehmensstudie/Geschäftsstudie???). Any suggestions?

Business Case
Explanation:
Even if you don't like it, "Business Case" is actually used in German. If you desperately try to translate it you run the risk that the meaning is not understood.

Geschäftsvorfall

Explanation:
This is a but tricky, Sabine, especially in the context of software development. It may be "Business Case", as the colleagues suggested, if this is strictly a matter of the internal software organization (cf. Use Case). If , however, this is simply an enumeration of business transactions or potential business transactions, I would normally call it a "Geschäftsvorfall". The latter term frequently shows up in statistics and performance measurements.
