“Maintenance” means (a) technical support via toll-free telephone, fax and e-mail during the support hours (as defined in Attachment A hereto) as required for ABC’s use of the Product; (b) corrections to errors in the Software; (c) new versions, releases, updates, patches, functional and technical enhancements and other modifications to the Software, including without limitation changes to accommodate and integrate with any relevant regulatory changes or changes to industry technical standards; (d) products that are functional replacements for those previously licensed by ABC together with all Licensor products necessary to use such replacements, including without limitation new offerings after a Product is end-of-lifed or ***bundled supersets*** containing functionality previously licensed to ABC as a stand-alone product; (e) new and/or revised Documentation; (f) monthly reports detailing information on the most current status on Software problems, corrections, newly discovered bugs, and targeted resolutions dates; and (g) modifications to the Software to accommodate any new operating system release if the previous release was supported by Licensor at the time the Software was installed. All fixes, modifications and updates to the Software will be accompanied by corresponding changes to the Documentation.

It is terribly in, especially in computer-related fields, to introduce English words even when there is an equivalent German Term. Prithee, do not contribute to the anglification of the German language.
What they are talking about is, say, you have licensed MS Word; a bundled superset thereof would be MS Office or MS Office Pro. And remember, finding it on the Internet alone DOES NOT validate its correctness. Is Sun a harbinger of anglification?
I suggest "gebündeltes Software-Paket" or, for greater precision, "ein das lizenzierte Produkt enthaltendes Software-Paket".
Note that you will find about the same number of hits for "Softwarebündel" and/or "Software-Bündel" as you do for "Software Bundle" when you search Google for German results. Thus Google (or the Net) will not serve as the tiebreaker here. Let your conscience be your guide.
BTW "end-of-lifed" is not what I consider English either. "Retired" is the usual term. |
