agree  Tilman Heckel: In HTML ist der Alternativtext ein Attribut, das zu jedem Bild angegeben werden muss und angezeigt wird, wenn das Bild nicht geladen wird (Grafiken abgeschaltet, Nur-Text-Browser, n. gefunden) oder auch, wenn der Mauszeiger über dem Bild ist, z.B. im IE.

  -> ja, ganz genau genommen, ist der Text (String) ja nicht alternativ, sondern er wird alternativ angezeigt. Im Netscape Composer heißt es aber auch "Alternativer Text: ...".
