löschen, entfernen, leeren, (be)reinigen
Explanation:
And sometimes even aufräumen, depending on the context. Löschen is probably the most common translation for any of the three. Entfernen is the name of the Delete key on the keyboard. Bereinigen can be used for virtual things (files, memory etc) and reinigen is mostly used for physical things (printer heads, cartridges etc). If you're talking about clearing a checkbox, use deaktivieren. These are all terms used by Microsoft. Apparently, there is no 1:1 translation, as often these terms are not used consistently in English either.
