Liebe Kollegen,

ich übersetze einen kleinen Artikel über Straßenbauvorhaben in einer amerikanischen Stadt. Dort taucht die Bezeichnung "Acting City Engineer" auf, die mir Schwierigkeiten bereitet:

"According to XXX, P.E., Head of Engineering Services for Transportation and the Acting City Engineer, ..."

Mein Übersetzungsversuch soweit: "Laut XXX, dem Ingenieur, Leiter des Straßenbauamtes und ???"; Kommentare sind herzlich willkommen.

Laut XXX, Dipl.-Ing. (oder P.E. stehenlassen), Leiter des Straßenbauamtes und amtierender Bauingenieur der Stadt.

Ich denke das 'acting' steht für amtierend. Man findet auch deutsche Texte, die den Begriff übernehmen. Es handelt sich lt. Def. um einen Ingenieur der von der Stadtverwaltung für öffentliche Bauvorhaben engagiert wird. Ich sehe dort nur umschreibende Möglichkeiten...
