XXX states that ANSI A118.12 American National Standard Specification for ***Crack Isolation Membranes*** for Thin-set Ceramic Tile and Dimension Stone Installation does not relate to any “real field applied installation performance ratings’. This standard was developed to provide the minimum criteria necessary for a material to function as a deterrent to crack propagation from the substrate through the finished thin-set tile or stone installation. This standard is for a ***crack isolation membrane*** and not particularly for an uncoupling membrane. As noted in XXX’s report, the Y uncoupling membrane was tested in accordance with ANSI A118.12, which concluded that the Y uncoupling membrane was classified as “high performance.”

XXX states that the Y uncoupling membranes have not been “approved and successfully tested within industry standards”. Neither ASTM C 627 nor ANSI A118.12 are requirements for uncoupling membranes in Systems F147 or F148 per TCNA. There are presently no industry testing standards specifically for uncoupling membranes. Based on the wide variety of tile materials and sizes, the types, thicknesses, and mixture proportions of the thin set materials and tile grout, and the installation techniques and curing methods and conditions used in the more than 600 homes which are part of the AAA claim, it would be extremely unreasonable and impractical to consider testing the Y products in accordance with ASTM C 627 for all of these conditions.

Asker: Hallo Bernd, die uncoupling membrane ist die Entkopplungsmatte (die Broschüren der dt. Y-Herstellerfirma im Internet gefunden). Ich brauche also einen Begriff, der sich von Entkopplungsmatte unterscheidet. Hast Du vielleicht noch eine andere Idee?
