Prestressing anchorage regions
In the compression side of the foundation and shaft the pre-stress load is transferred from the anchorage to the shaft wall by direct compressive strut action. In the tension side, however, the pre-stress load must be transferred by vertical suspension reinforcement down to the flexural compression zone, see Figure 3
