The waffle, grill and griddle plates have been treated with a special nonstick coating. Before the first use, we suggest you season the cooking plates with cooking spray or flavorless vegetable oil. If using oil, apply oil with a paper towel or pastry brush. You may find it helpful to repeat this process before each use of the cooking plates.

agree  Andreas Stuth: Hatte neulich mit der Untertitelung der Kochpräsentation eines US-Kochs (Maryland) zu tun, der hat auch sein Zeug erst mit einem "vegetable spray" behandelt. "Gemüsespray" habe ich dazu tatsächlich gefunden.
