English to German translations [PRO] Cooking / Culinary | | English term or phrase: breakage (siehe Satz) | Corkage charges will apply to cover service, breakage and cleaning linked to the service of your own wines on application.

The corkage fee covers service (but not tips/service charge), wine glass breakage/rental and some of the lost revenue from not selling a wine off the restaurant's list.

Figured into the pricing of a bottle of wine are the costs of stemware, including breakage; of service, storage and inventory management.

Many patrons don't really appreciate the cost of the glassware, labor and breakage, too. One local restaurant told me that they spend $300 per month in glasses and decanters, though that sounds pretty high.
