David Williams: Ihre Form behalten die Eidotter ohnehin, so lange sie im Ei sind. Das ist nicht das Problem. Es geht darum, dass sie fest werden. Es geht hier ja um gekochte Eier ("Boil eggs a few minutes longer..."), also haben "Eier im Glas" nichts mit diesem Konte

-> Unsinn! Macht man Eier im Glas, kann sich das Eidotter durchaus verformen, wenn man nicht vorsichtig vorgeht.

IP-Chemist: Ja, ihre Form beibehalten. Der Autor schreibt eindeutig 'shape' und nichts von 'solid', was er wohl auch noch geschafft hätte, wenn es ihm darum gegangen wäre. Es geht um Übersetzung und nicht Interpretation von Sachverhalten.
