"Here we are doing an elasticity test on XX. She has had her hair pre-lightened. It is ribboning, which is showing us the protein levels are low and we need to get those protein levels up, for the colour to hold."

Weiß jemand, was hier mit "ribboning" gemeint sein könnte? Danke!

Habe lange gerätselt und recherchiert (s. u.), und diese Antwort kommt der Lösung ziemlich nahe. Unter http://www.langhaarnetzwerk.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3926 wird ein Proteintest mit versch. Ergebnissen erklärt, wonach wohl 3 Möglichkeiten passen würden. Meine Lösung ist jetzt "dehnt sich gummiartig" - möglich wäre hier evtl. auch das schwächere Ergebnis "fühlt sich gummiartig an". Danke an alle!

Explanation:
Der Vorschlag mit "strähnig" war schon gut, ich denke aber, dass im Sinne der Übersetzung des ganzen Satzes ribboning nicht mit einem Wort übersetzt werden kann. Es gibt einfach kein entsprechendes Wort im Deutschen, deshalb also die Übersetzung als kurze Wortgruppe mit den entsprechenden Adjektiven zur Beschreibung der Eigenschaften.
Ich stelle mir das also so vor, dass die Haare "zusammenkleben", also Strähnen bilden. Da jedoch nicht das Wort "strips" verwendet wird, ist auch noch die Eigenschaftsbeschreibung der Strähne im Wort enthalten, deshalb "sich kräuselnde" (siehe Link weiter unten).
