English to German translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Economics
English term or phrase:at market exchange rate
X is the largest economy ***at market exchange
"Market exchange rate" is m. E. "Marktkurs", doch welche Präposition passt denn in diesem Zusammenhang? Ich finde "größte Volkswirtschaft zum Marktkurs" doch eher seltsam, bin jedoch auch kein Wirtschaftsfachmann.... Vielen Dank!
The phrase comes from a marketing article on future retail opportunities for foreign companies in this country. It says:
"Take a look at its socio, economic and demographic prowess that lures foreign companies to the country irrespective of the sectors: X largest country, Y largest economy at market exchange rate, Z largest purchasing power, A largest GDP at XY Trillion USD" and so on. Thank you.
Context is really rather too thin here; what is the text either side of the post, or what is its actual force? What is the general background to the post - is it an exposé of the country "X", a comparison between two or more countries, or what?

Explanation: With the additional context, I see nothing at all wrong with your idea; although I don't claim to be an expert in "Wirtschaft" either, it sounds good enough to me.
