English term or phrase: brain gain
Is there an established translation in German for "brain gain", i.e. a surplus in the balance of highly qualified people leaving and entering a country.

I don't have a context, as I'm working on a search profile to locate texts in German about brain gain, brain drain and knowledge migration. So any thoughts about other suitable keywords would also be most welcome.

Thanks for any input!

Explanation:
as opposed to Wissensexport (brain drain)

possibly, though IMO they're not 'established'.

agree  Harald Moelzer (medical-translator): It is not completely unknown - you can find some references!

neutral  xxxAngela Heine: Unfortunately, Wissensexport is a word that is used in many different contexts. The most typical usage is refering to topics of 'knowledge management'.

-> I can live with that. I was looking for solutions as short (and sweet) as the English.

agree  anisco: warum nicht? Aber nur für den Fall, dass Brain Drain auch übersetzt wird, sonst bin ich für das Paar < Brain Drain / Brain Gain >

agree  Harald Moelzer (medical-translator): Richtig. 'Wissensimport' is used both in a personal and in a country wide context and matches the short English term.

agree  anisco: auch Zuwanderung von Know-how-Trägern.
26 mins

agree  Christian: Genau so muss das heißen. Es geht auch ohne Denglisch. :-) Außerdem stimmt es, dass die Begriffe Zuwanderung bzw. Abwanderung von Fachkräften "highly official terms" sind. Couldn't AGREE more.

Brain Gain

Explanation:
