(See also my previous question 'brain drain': http://www.proz.com/kudoz/773538)

Is there an established translation in German for "brain drain", i.e. a deficit in the balance of highly qualified people leaving and entering a country.

I don't have a context, as I'm working on a search profile to locate texts in German about brain gain, brain drain and knowledge migration. So any thoughts about other suitable keywords would also be most welcome.

Thanks for any input!

Brain drain

Explanation:
In French we use the same words as in English, so that I suppose it is also the same in German.

disagree  Christian: No, "Brain drain" is not German.// Of course, words such as "Ticket", "Brain Drain" and "Power" are used in German, but this is not German - it's Denglish. The asker wants an EN-DE *translation*.
2 mins

agree  Andreas Zantop: Frédéric is right; we do use the same term in German.
3 mins

agree  xxxIanW: According to my Langenscheidt, this does exist in German, albeit capitalised and hyphenated - "Brain-Drain" - and for Chris' purposes, this is probably the best word to use, given the craze for English words in German
5 mins

agree  Wenke Geddert: Laut Duden: Brain|drain, auch: Brain-Drain ['] der; -s : Abwanderung von Wissenschaftlern ins Ausland

agree  Cilian O'Tuama: Collins sagt, ein Wort nach neuer Rechtschreibung

neutral  anisco: ehrlich gesagt, der Ausdruck wird höchst selten angewandt, wenn, dann würde ich ihn mit Anführungszeichen schmücken.

agree  Richard Benham: One thing I don't understand: Why does it seem that *every* country complains about the brain-drain? Where do all the intelligent people actually end up?
