Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / Wiring | | English term or phrase: #18 MTW wires | Es geht um "supervisory switch wiring", der Satz lautet:
Switches supervise the valve in the open position. One switch has two #18 MTW wires per terminal, which permit complete supervision of leads.
MTW = Machine tool wire? Gibt es dazu einen entsprechenden Ausdruck im Deutschen?

MTW = Machine Tool Wire ist offenbar eine von den UL genormter Kabeltyp, der spezielle technsiche Tests bestehen muss, um speziell für Werkzeugmaschinen geeignet zu sein.
UL = Underwriters Laboratories = US-Prüfstelle (so eine Art "TÜV"), die das Qualitätszeichen "UV" aufrgrund von Prüfungen erteilt. MTW kann man nicht übersetzen, das ist wie ein Markenname. #18 ist die "Drahtnummer", d.h. der Leiterquerschnitt, den man aufgrung von Tabellen in mm2 angeben kann, aber m.E. hier nicht soll. |
