Es handelt sich meiner Ansicht nach um eine handbetägtige Schalteinrichtung (Taste, Schalter) zur sofortigen Unterbrechung eines maschinengeführten Vorgangs im Notfall (Not-Aus-Schalter). In Abhängigkeit von Art und Funktion der Anlage wird das System bei Gefahr entweder komplett abgeschaltet oder schrittweise nach bestimmten Regeln in einen sicheren Zustand versetzt.
