Definition: A building entrance terminal is comprised of a housing containing both primary station protectors and connector terminals for each conductor pair provided by the telecommunications company and used by the customer. The primary station protectors may be fused or fuseless.

Es handelt sich um den Übergabepunkt zwischen den Leitungen des TK-Providers und den Leitungen im Haus. Bei uns liegt das im Einflussbereich der Telekom und darf nur von dieser angefasst werden. Bei den Amerikanern sieht das anders aus.. 'Protector' würde ich mit 'Überspannungsschutz' übersetzen. (d.h. Gesmatbegriff als 'Hausverteiler mit integriertem Überspannungsschutz)

Hausinstallationen sehen eben bei uns anders aus als in den USA - ein building entrance terminal ist im einfachsten Fall eine Box, die Anschlussklemmen enthält, womit das Haus ans öffentliche Netz angeschaltet wird. Asker: Danke, Gaby. Mein Problem ist, dass man bei einer G-Suche mit dem englischen Begriff zahlreiche Bilder findet; wenn mit Suchwörtern aus dem Bereich Überspannungsschutz (und Begriffe wie Hausübergabepunkt, Hausverteiler, Basiselemente, Magazine usw.), finde ich nichts, was auch nur ansatzweise so aussieht wie ein „building entrance terminal“.
