Wenn ein elektrischer Schaltkreis (z. B. der Trip-Computer) an die Spannungsversorgung (hier: die Batterie) angeschlossen wird, fließt ein Strom. Stromaufnahme oder current draw bezeichnet, wieviel Strom durch den Schaltkreis fließt oder laienhaft formuliert "verbraucht" wird (den eher technisch angehauchten Leser schüttelt's dabei).
Techniker-Umgangssprachlich sagt man auch, dass "Strom gezogen" wird (dat Ding zieht 5 Ammpehr).
