Ich kenne nur "upstream" (vorgelagert) und "downstream" (nachgelagert). Aber wie übersetze ich "midstream"?

midstream = in der Mitte des Flusses, auf halber Strecke, mittendrin
(Collins German Dictionary)

Würde ich als "auf gleicher Augehöhe mit den meisten anderen" betrachten, damit auch als wettbewerbsfähig (competitive)

kann auch mit "Zwischenhandelsunternehmen" übersetzt werden, wenn das "mid" als "Mitte" zwischen Erzeuger (wellhead = Bohrlochkopf) betrachtet wird.
