Erdgas-betriebenes Heizkraftwerk auf GuD-Basis in Köln-NiehlGuD-Kraftwerke, ausgeschrieben Gas- und Dampfturbinen-Kraftwerke, dienen überwiegend der Stromerzeugung, wobei Gasturbinen- und Dampfturbinenprozess miteinander kombiniert werden. Die Bezeichnung GuD-Kraftwerk ist in Deutschland üblich. Sie ist eine geschützte Bezeichnung der Firma Siemens Power Generation. In der Schweiz und in Österreich wird dieser Kraftwerkstyp eher als Kombikraftwerk bezeichnet. Im englischen Sprachraum spricht man von "Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP)" oder "Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT)". Wegen ihrer Schnellstartfähigkeit erzeugen GuD-Kraftwerk in Europa im wesentlichen Mittellaststrom - z.T. auch Spitzenstrom.
