Explanation:
Der fragliche Begriff ist eigentlich nicht "Balance of System", sondern "Balance of System component".
"Balance of System" (BoS) ist eine international gebräuchliche Bezeichnung für einen in der IEC 62093 definierten Sammelbegriff, der sich auf erneuerbare Energien bezieht und im engeren Sinn alle Anlagenteile mit Ausnahme der von der erneuerbaren Energiequelle (Sonne, Wind, Wasser, ...) gespeisten ("energieerntenden") Kernkomponente ("harvesting" component, z. B. ein Photovoltaik-Modul oder eine Windturbine) - umfasst. Ebenfalls nicht zum BoS-Bereich gehören nach meinem Verständnis auch die an die Anlage angeschlossenen Verbraucher bzw. Energienetze.
Typische BoS-Komponenten sind elektrische Baugruppen wie Wechselrichter und Generatoren sowie bauliche Einrichtungen (Fundamente, Träger, ...).
Darüber hinaus wird "Balance of System" auch im erweiterten Sinn unter Einschluss von betriebswirtschaftlichen und anderen nicht-technischen Gesichtspunkten gebraucht.
Hier aber geht es ausschließlich um die oben abgegrenzten technischen Einrichtungen (im Deutschen oft kurz als BoS-Komponenten/Bauteile/Baugruppen bezeichnet) und die damit verknüpften Sicherheits- und Montageanforderungen.
