English to German translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Energy / Power Generation
English term or phrase: high grade heat
"The Air Source Heat pump extracts heat from the external ambient air and converts it into high grade heat to be used within the home."

Reference: High grade heat (> 300 °C)

Reference information:

** high-grade heat **
chaleur de haute qualité n. f.

Thermal energy at a temperature higher than about 300°-500 °C is loosely termed high-grade heat to emphasize the fact that a premium-grade fuel will generally be required to supply it.

(...)

. Note(s) :
In contrast, low-grade heat can usually be supplied by non-premium fuels.
The grade of heat can be rigorously defined in thermo-dynamic terms by means of an availability factor, which is a measure of the maximum theoretical efficiency into which the heat can be converted to work. High-grade heat has a relatively high availability factor. "

Note to reference poster
Asker: Danke.
