Im Gegensatz zu einem klassischen Wasserkraftwerk, dass die Höhenunterschiede (beispielsweise von Berg zu Tal) nutzt ist das Laufwasserkraftwerk im Fluß integriert.
Sozusagen eine Art "neue" Wassermühle, die aber keine kinetische/Drehenergie erzeugt, sondern elektrische.
