English term or phrase: active band survey
Noise levels in the working environment should not exceed 75dB(A) during operation when determined in accordance with BS4813.

The noise level from each item of plant must not exceed 75 dB(A) whilst idle when measured one metre away. An *active band survey* shall show no pronounced tonal content in the noise.
