If *Accumulator* A is going to provide the maximum amount of protection from downtime at Process 1 then it should be full.
Similarly *Accumulator* B should be empty if it is to provide the maximum protection from downtime after Process

Falls es in einer Fertigungslinie einen 'Flaschenhals' (= Engpass) gibt, wird eine Pufferzone davor eingerichtet, in der sich die Produkte/Waren aufstauen.
Kommt es nun zu einer Unterbrechung *vor* dem Engpass, kann trotzdem weiter gearbeitet werden, zumindest bis der Puffer/accumulator leer ist. |
