Der ganze Satz:
[Company]’s financial results after Closing were well below previous expectations and demonstrated an accelerating shortfall, compared even to the 2005 Budget finalized in April 2005


Mein Versuch:
Die Geschäftszahlen von [Firma] nach dem Closing lagen deutlich unter den vorigen Erwartungen und belegten sogar im Vergleich zu dem im April 2005 genehmigten Budget des Jahres 2005 einen XXX??? Fehlbetrag.

budget ist mit "Budget" und shortfall mit "Fehlbetrag" vorgegeben. Mir ist nicht klar, was dieses "accelerating" hier bedeutet? Beschleunigender Fehlbetrag? Vielleicht sehe ich auch nur den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht!? Vorab vielen Dank für eure Hilfe!

falls shortfall wirklich hier fb heißen muss - könnte mir auch vorstellen dass eher Lücke (im vgl zur planung) gemeint ist
