German translation: (sehr) kurzfristige und längerfristige Prognosen

English term or phrase:Nowcasting/forecasting
Hallo an alle,
ich übersetze gerade einen Text, der sich mit der Rolle von Expertenprognosen auf Finanzmärkten beschäftigt. Dabei bin ich irgendwie bei diesen beiden Begriffen hängen geblieben und habe mir ein wenig den Kopf über eine anständige Übersetzung zerbrochen. Beide Begriffe stehen in einer Aufzählung, ich denke jedoch, dass ungefähr klar wird um was es sich hier handelt. Ich denke, dass hier einfach der Unterschied zwischen kurzfristigen und langfristigen Prognosen klargemacht werden soll.
Explanation: Ich stimme damit praktisch dem Vorschlag zu. Der Begriff stammt ursprünglich aus der Meteorologie (siehe Quelle unten).
Die Europäische Zentralbank hat dazu unter http://www.ecb.int/pub/pdf/scpwps/ecbwp1275.pdf im Dezember 2010 ein "Working Paper" veröffentlicht, das folgende Definition enthält:
"We define nowcasting as the prediction of the present, the very near future and the very recent past. Crucial in this process is to use timely monthly information in order to nowcast key economic variables, such as e.g. GDP, that are typically collected at low frequency and published with long delays. Until recently, nowcasting had received very little attention by the academic literature, although it was routinely conducted in policy institutions either through a judgemental process or on the basis of simple models. We argue that the nowcasting process goes beyond the simple production of an early estimate as it essentially requires the assessment of the impact of new data on the subsequent forecast revisions for the target variable. We design a statistical model which produces a sequence of nowcasts in relation to the real time releases of various economic data. The methodology allows to process a large amount of information, as it is traditionally done by practitioners using judgement, but it does it in a fully automatic way. In particular, it provides an explicit link between the news in consecutive data releases and the resulting forecast revisions. To illustrate our ideas, we study the nowcast of euro area GDP in the fourth quarter of 2008."
Diese Definition ist allerdings ein Widerspruch in sich, denn die jüngste Vergangenheit und die Gegenwart können nicht mehr vorhergesagt/prognostiziert ("predicted"), sondern allenfalls analysiert werden.

Allerdings ist auch hier die irreführende Formulierung "economists have to forecast the present and even the recent past" enthalten - in diesen Fällen würde ich wie gesagt nicht von einer Prognose, sondern von einer Analyse/Einschätzung sprechen.

Damit könnte man sicher Geld für die Verwendung des Gänseblümchenzupfens ("Er liebt mich, er liebt mich nicht ...") im Rahmen wissenschaftlicher Nuncgnosekonzepte einwerben und ehrgeizigen Doktoranden neue Themen anbieten!
5% Inflation oder 5 Mio. Arbeitslose? Die Frage wurde gestellt, als ob das ein Scheideweg, eine Weichenstellung wäre. Im Forecasting ergab sich dann, dass wohl statt 'oder' das 'und' drohte.
Der Ball hat 10m Höhe erreicht - aber: (nowcasting) wohin fliegt er: ins eigene Tor, auf die Torlatte, ins Aus, zu einem Spieler, ins gegnerische Tor, darüber hinweg, in die Hände des gegnerischen Torwarts.
Das entscheidende am Nowcasting ist meiner Ansicht, dass man nur zuschauen, das Ergebnis aber nicht (oder in geringen Grenzen - Faust des Torwarts) ändern kann.

Explanation: In der Schweiz spricht auch der Meteorologe von "Prognose", sicherlich das Äquivalent von "forecast" oder "Vorhersage". Hier gibt es auch "futurecast". Das Vorwärtsschauen ist bei diesen Ausdruckweisen nur noch "verdünnt" im Sprachbewußtsein .

Diese Variante nimmt auf, dass die Gegenwart im Prinzip festgelegt ist und keine 'open ends' mehr hat, sie ist nur noch nicht bewertet und analysiert.
Eine Prognose für die Zukunft kann eindimensional sein (am 1.1. leben 600 fast sechsjährige Kinder in der Stadt, daher werden am 1.8. etwa 600 Kinder in die Grundschule eintreten). Im Begriff 'Prognose' steckt diese Eindeutigkeit, eine Prognose kann aber auch mehrere Entwicklungsvarianten zur Auswahl anbieten - die Szenarien.
