Kann zu frothy nur "schäumend" finden. Und beim Googeln finde ich es nur im Zus'hang mit Autos :-( ...

Ich denke beinahe, dass es keine Ölsorte ist, sondern einfach Öl, das aufgeschäumt (geschlagen) worden ist, bin aber ohne Kontext natürlich nicht sicher.

Ich denke beinahe, dass es keine Ölsorte ist, sondern einfach Öl, das aufgeschäumt (geschlagen) worden ist, bin aber ohne Kontext natürlich nicht sicher.

Schaum bildendes Öl (unreines oder ungefiltertes Öl)

Explanation:
Wie ich das verstehe, ist das Öl, das z.B. beim Frittieren schäumt. Es scheint mir, dass es sich auf den Reinheits- oder Qualitätsgrad bezieht. Ungefiltertes Öl bringt beim Erhitzen die schwereren Bestandteile als Schaum an die Oberfläche.

Im Automobilbereich bedeutet es oft auch Öl, das z.B. Wasseranteile hat und dadurch zu schäumen anfängt.
