das hier ist vielleicht ne doofe Frage aber ich langsam total unsicher!
Ich finde einfach kein engl. Wort für Peperoni, das sich richtig "anfühlt".
"Peppers" sind für mich Paprika und "Chillies" (wird für Peperoni im Pons vorgeschlagen) sind für mich eben Chillies (noch kleiner als Peperonis und rot und sehr scharf); im Collins gibt es "peperoni", aber als scharfe ital. Wurst!
Hat einer eine Lösung für Peperoni (grün, ca. 10 cm lang, haüfig scharf)?

They are usually pickled (whole) and sold in glass jars. Jalapenos are a type of pepper and are usually pickled and sold sliced in jars (or fresh). Jalapeno peppers are small, whereas the hot peppers I am referring to are long. They are the same as the Peperoni you buy in Germany.

There is a type of salami in the US called peperoni. That is what you were referring to in the dictionary.

es gibt sogar eine Band, die sich "Red Hot Chilly Peppers" nennt. Da Peperoni sowohl rot als auch grün sein können, musst Du halt, wenn das für den Kontext wichtig ist, die entsprechende Farbe hinzufügen.

Botanik

Capsicum annum, so der lateinische Name, gehört zu Familie der Nachtschatten Gewächse. Die Peperoni ist eine einjährige Pflanze. Streng genommen ist sie eine Beere und keine Schote.

Das ist eine gute Seite, die die Peperoni genau beschreibt. Capsum Annum ist auf englisch einfach \"pepper\". Vielleicht liegt also Elke ganz richtig

agree  Klaus Herrmann: Absolutely. Chili peppers is a different variety of Peperoni (the smaller hot ones, as opposed to the mild mediterranean variety in this question).
