The carbon cycle is affected when forests are harvested. CO2 is released during harvesting and manufacture of wood products and by the use and disposal of wood. Neu eingebracht in die Diskussion für die Zeit nach 2012 im Bereich des LULUCF wurde die Frage der Bewertung von Holzprodukten. Die in Englisch geführten Diskussionen sprechen dabei von „Harvested Wood Products“ kurz HWP bezeichnet. Darunter werden alle Holzprodukte aus dem Wald verstanden (also sowohl Schnittholz als auch Industrieholz und Brennholz). Im deutschsprachigen Raum hat sich dazu die irreführende Übersetzung der „langlebige Holzprodukte“ eingebürgert.
Dazu ist ausdrücklich anzumerken, dass es sich bei der international geführten Diskussion um HWP NICHT NUR um LANGLEBIGE, sondern um JEGLICHE Holzprodukte handelt.

Ich hab' auch noch den Ausdruck "geerntete Waldprodukte" gefunden - das scheint jedenfalls besser zu passen als "geerntete Holzprodukte"
