Eine Psyche ist ein Möbel, das im Stilzeitalter des Empire (1800–1830) erfunden wurde und zunächst nur aus einem schwenkbaren Spiegel bestand. Später wurden kleine Unterschränke mit Schubladen bzw. Türen hinzugefügt. Die Psyche erfreute sich besonders in den 40er und 50er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts großer Beliebtheit."
