Es geht um die Verschiebung bestimmter Tastenbelegungen zwischen verschiedenen Versionen eines Spiels:

The balance between the L1 and the **face buttons** being on opposite hands I think really helps people to be able to use it as kind of a shift functionality.

Ich weiß leider nicht, was face button hier bedeutet.

Tasten auf der Oberseite

Explanation:
Ich glaube, die "face buttons" sind die Tasten auf der Oberseite und die "shoulder buttons" sind seitlich an der Fernbedienung angebrachte Tasten. Beim Controller der Playstation wären nach meiner Vermutung also die L1-Taste ein "shoulder button", da sie vorne seitlich ist und die Dreiecks-, Kreis-, X-Taste usw. wären "face buttons".

So wäre das wohl auch beim unten angegebenen Link.
