English term or phrase:gravetoids
We've also added tons of new gameplay elements including lasers, plasma, *gravetoids*, teleporters, gravity inverters, etc.
I found a description of a gravitoid from the company who produces the game:
"A gravitoid is an object that will gravitationally attract the antimatter. Der Wortstamm im Deutschen (eher ja Lateinischen - "gravitas") enthält das i, alles andere führt imo dazu, dass die intuitive Verständlichkeit des Wortes leidet.
Das Spiel selbst verwendet gravEtoid, aber eine Beschreibung des Herstellers spricht von gravItoid. Vielleicht auch ein Fehler des Herstellers? Ehrlich gesagt, ist mir das zuerst auch nicht aufgefallen. Wie man so schön auf spanisch sagt: cuatro ojos ven más que dos. Ich danke allen!
@Konrad: Ich fand das übrigens in der Fragestellung nicht klar, ob das Spiel GravItoid oder GravEtoid verwendet - und in deinem Kommentar auch nicht. Ich denke zwar, dass du das mit I meinst, ich würde aber in jedem Fall das verwenden, selbst wenn das englische das mit e benutzt, weil es üblicher und intuitiv verständlicher ist. [Und nebenher bin ich mir nicht mal sicher, ob die Spielentwickler die anderen Bedeutungen kennen oder das nicht doch frei erfunden haben, ohne davon zu wissen.]
I came close to using the English original, since it is a game, and it sounds good. But since the German version does exist, I decided to use it instead. Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly, I love this site!
ist kein für das Spiel geschaffenes Wort, Gravitoide gibt es schon mit hat zwei Bedeutungen, die nicht dem Spiel entsprechen, einmal in deer theoretischen Physik, dem Graviton verwandt, einmal in der Ozeanographie. Wenn im Original das Kunstwort Gravetoid verwendet wird, besteht kein Anlaß im Deutschen ein anderes zu nehmen.

Other made-up words work as well: Gravitron, Gravimagnet, Antimaterie-Gravifalle or something like this, but I don't see a reason to NOT use the original.
