English to German translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Games / Video Games / Gaming / Casino / Sports Betting - Football | | English term or phrase: under is winner | This is from a betting website for American Football:
For all Football Propositions involving receiving yards on first reception or longest reception for a specific player, that player must play for action. Note that if the player plays, but does not have a catch, his first reception yards proposition will be graded as zero yards (under is winner).
I have found the term being used, but I am struggling to grasp its exact meaning and I haven't found any German equivalent ... is it ok to leave this untranslated as so many other terms in American Football and betting? |

| | weniger gewinnt | Explanation: I just had a look at a big betting site. I did not find the exact type of bet you mentioned (total of receiving yards) but a different one which should do as an example.
In the bet "Hines Ward (PIT Steelers) Längste Reception" (in "Super Bowl XLV Spezialwetten") you have two choices: "Mehr als 16.5 Yards" and "Weniger als 16.5 Yards".
So I reckon that if Hines Ward is fielded but does not manage to complete a catch, his "Längste Reception" will be 0 yards and you will win if you bet "Weniger als 16.5 Yards" i.e. "Weniger gewinnt".
NOTE: I do think it sounds a bit awkward if you just put it like this at the end of above sentence but you might choose to use a longer sentence in the parentheses.
Hope this helps

Such a longer sentence could be e.g.
* Wetten auf "Weniger als ..." gewinnen |
