"nerdly" muss man strikt zielgruppenorientiert entweder positiv oder negativ übersetzen, und da es hier um ein Computerspiel geht, wäre die positive Übersetzung am angebrachtesten. (man will die potentiellen Spieler ja nicht direkt beleidigen, siehe "Nerd pride": http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nerd).
Dass das "nerdly" hier positiv-liebevoll gemeint ist, deutet sich ja schon mit dem "whet" an.
Am einfachsten macht man es sich, wenn man das neudeutsche "nerdig" nimmt, da es neutral-positiv ist.

Explanation:
Nerdig ist für mich zwar die beste Lösung, um "nerdly" zu übersetzen, zielt aber im Deutschen etwas an der Kernaussage des Satzes vorbei.
Es geht ja darum, dass sich der Spieler während der Spielpausen (ich gehe mal davon aus, dass das während des Ladevorgangs etc. passiert) mit Minigames beschfäftigt, bis er wieder zum Hauptspiel zurück kann.
Deshalb meine Vorschläge die eher in die Richtung gehen den Zocker/Gamer/Spiele-Hunger/Appetit anzuregen.
