Bettina GJ: I agree, however, it seems to me a funny contrast: on the one hand they say it is interesting, but on the other hand, "auf der Stelle treten" sounds more as if it is frustrating; it conveys the feeling of not getting anywhere.

Gert Hirschfeld: Bettina, dieses "interesting" ist ja wohl eher ironisch gemeint. Genau so wie in vielen Situationen das Wort das genaue Gegenteil bedeutet.
