The guy who was rob bed's a **schlep**. Ich habe verschiedene Bedeutungen für "schlep" gefunden, aber keine die im Kontext des Satzes Sinn macht. Der Satz hat leider auch im mir vorliegenden Text keinen weiteren Kontext.

It's actually a word of yiddish origin. If you look up "shlep" instead of "schlep", you'll have plenty of google-hits.

Explanation:
Depends on the context, of course. If the focus is on stupidity, then "Dummbatz / Trottel" is probably good. If, however, the focus is on clumsiness, then Colin's suggestions "Tollpatsch / Trampel" are better, I think.
