The costly **post** was postponed because of the frost.

Ohne Kontext. Pfosten, Pfeiler, Säule? Wurde hier evtl. nur etwas weggelassen (the assembly of the costly post)? Um einen Posten (im Sinne von Job) kann es ja wohl nicht gehen. Für Spekulationen (gerne auch wilde;) wäre ich euch dankbar.
